Daria and Bart’s Sky Philadelphia wedding from June was just one of several summer Philly weddings that Sandi and Jay photographed, they still have a few more go before Fall kicks in. The Philadelphia wedding season is in full swing right now and things are about to get even crazier with the Fall season here on the East Coast about to kick in. Looking back on this summer’s weddings, we were in the city a lot more than in previous years. We had a stretch of 5 weddings in a row that were all in the city, each of them unique from the other. Daria and Bart’s wedding was one that we fell in love with as it had a nice mix of different elements throughout the day. They each got ready in old Victorian homes that they rented out and it made for some great prep and first look photos to start the day off. From there everyone drove over to Manayunk where their ceremony was held at the 186-year-old St. John the Baptist Church which didn’t disappoint for beautiful photos either. Once Daria and Bart were married and enjoyed a few mins with family and friends it was time to head over to the city for some photos and celebrating.
[FLASHBACK: Daria & Bart’s Engagement Shoot]
Daria and Bart’s reception was held at the Sky Philadelphia, where the two of them would spend the rest of the night dancing and having one hell of a time on the 51st floor overlooking the beautiful city of Philly below. Whenever a couple books their reception at Sky Philadelphia, I would have to imagine they dream of being able to look out from the balcony and have a beautiful sunset. I’m sure there have been plenty of disappointed brides when the weather didn’t cooperate, but not ours. As the sun started to go down, the sky began to resemble the colors from the famous Claude Oscar Monet’s painting, San Giorgio Maggiore At Dusk. Well, without the water, but you get the idea. It turned out to be one of the most beautiful backdrops Jay and Sandi have ever photographed at a city wedding. It’s one that I’m sure Daria and Bart had only dreamed about when they were planning their Sky Philadelphia wedding, and one that Jay and Sandi won’t be forgetting any time soon.

Brenna and Frank’s Ashford Estate Wedding is one from 2017 that we fell in love with but never got around to blogging. They were two of our favorite clients from last year who got married at one of our favorite venues, the Ashford Estate. Two beautiful people with equally beautiful personalities and huge hearts. Luckily for us, Brenna stumbled upon and fell in love with our work while on the Fearless Photographers website. A website that surprisingly generates a good amount of inquiries for us even though most of the site’s popularity is with other photographers.
We hope you enjoy this wedding from last year and get a feel for what made us love this couple and their wedding as much as we did. They helped us design their album and already received all three of them months ago which came out beautiful. You can see some pics HERE, check them out. You can also check out their engagement shoot blog HERE.
We’re looking forward to seeing their family grow and hopefully photographing their next big life event or anniversary soon. Enjoy!

Dominique and Dylan’s Ballroom At The Ben Philly wedding was one that literally looked like it was straight out of a magazine from beginning to end. It was this past March (still trying to get caught up), so you’ll see some snow on the ground in a couple photos. As we prepare to photograph a wedding in the heat and humidity tomorrow, putting this together reminded me why I have never minded cold-weather weddings. I’ll take a little snow any day of the week over 95 degrees with humidity as thick as Campbells Soup.
Dominique and Dylan both got ready at one of our favorite hotels in the city, the Loews Hotel of Philadelphia. We have taken some of our favorite prep shots at this hotel, and this wedding was no different. There got married at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, where family and friends joined for a beautiful ceremony. With only limited daylight left before heading off to the cocktail hour, we quickly shot over to the Second Bank of the United States for some photos. One of the most impressive pieces of architecture in the city, it’s always a great spot for portraits. Each time we shoot there we try to mix in a few creative shots that are different than any we’ve taken before, giving our clients something unique. Those shots came as we quickly lost our natural sunlight and instead had to create our own. One of those shots are at the very end of this blog, and it’s definitely one of our favorite shots we’ve taken there.
From there the two of them along with their bridal party made their way over to the popular Ballroom At The Ben wedding venue. Another favorite of ours, it’s a venue that is perfect for a big city wedding and we love working with the staff there. It was a great party where the dance floor was rarely empty and it was the perfect ending to an awesome day. We couldn’t be more grateful that Dominique and Dylan hired us to be part of their big day and wish them nothing but happiness together. Looking forward to getting the call to photograph their next life event 🙂

Alyssa and Jeff’s wedding at the Vie in Philly was one we had been looking forward to ever since the two of them sat down in our studio over a year ago. It didn’t take long for the four of us to hit it off and while Sandi and Alyssa talked wedding plans, Jeff and I talked Game of Thrones. Anytime I get to talk GOT at an initial wedding consultation it’s a good one. They were both really big fans of our work and even though they seemed confident with hiring us to photograph their wedding, they left that day without making a decision. I can honestly say that I was more anxious waiting to hear back from them than any other couple that walked out without giving us a definite answer. With Alyssa and Jeff’s personalities, I knew that the four of us would be a perfect fit together and we would have a great time shooting their wedding. A few days went by and I remember feeling the disappointment sink in that they must have gone with someone else. Sandi reached out to Alyssa and I couldn’t have been happier to hear that I was wrong. They signed the contract and we began their engagement shoot.
Anytime we do engagement shoots, we explain that it’s not only a chance to get more relaxed and creative photos, but it’s also a great way to see how we work. On the night of their engagement shoot, it also happened to be the same night as the season 7 opener of GOT. Jeff, being as big of a fan as I am, did his best to get through the shoot and back home as quickly as possible. The shoot went good and we had a great time hanging out, but Jeff definitely learned a couple things. First, never rush through a photo shoot that your fiance is really excited about, and second, his blue steel Zoolander look wasn’t going to cut on their wedding day, ha.
On the day of their wedding, all of our prep work and time spent getting to know the two of them had paid off. I pulled up to their house where Jeff was getting ready, got out of my truck and was greeted with a big manly hug. I remember the videographer asking us how long we’ve been friends. The entire wedding day pretty much went flawlessly, and the two of them along with their wedding party made it one of our favorite weddings of the year. At one point, while driving around the city getting photos, the entire group had a dance party right outside of City Hall and had the attention of just about everyone around. We couldn’t be more thankful that Alyssa and Jeff chose to trust us with capturing their wedding day and we wish them nothing but the best. Congrats again you two, enjoy the blog post!
