When Camille and Ivan tied the knot at the stunning Bishop Farmstead, it wasn’t just another wedding for us—well, none of them are, but this one really reminded us why we love this job so much. Bishop Farmstead, a picturesque farm-style venue with its iconic big red barn and charming rustic touches, set the stage for a truly awesome Bishop Farmstead wedding. From the moment we arrived, we felt less like photographers and more like part of the family.
Camille and Ivan have those kinds of personalities that light up a room. They were big, bold, and unapologetically themselves all day long—and we couldn’t get enough of it. From Ivan’s infectious laugh to Camille’s radiant smile, every moment with them felt genuine and full of love for each other. They trusted us completely to capture their day, and that trust made all the difference. It allowed me to document every heartfelt tear, every laugh, and every epic dance move without hesitation.
From the emotional ‘first look’ between Camille and Ivan to her walk down the aisle at Bishop Farmstead’s beautiful outdoor ceremony space, every moment was filled with heartfelt joy. Camille and Ivan hardly left the dance floor all night, and their energy was absolutely infectious. The rustic barn at Bishop Farmstead turned into a lit party zone, and we were right in the thick of it with our cameras. Every moment was a blast to capture. The joy and laughter were nonstop, making it a night to remember for everyone involved.
We loved spending time with the two of them as we stepped away for portraits. Bishop Farmstead’s gorgeous grounds—from its lush greenery to the timeless charm of its big red barn—provided the perfect backdrop for capturing their love. Whether it was a quiet moment under the trees or a playful shot filled with smiles and laughter, every photo felt like a piece of their story which you’ll see below.
By the night’s end, we weren’t just their photographers; we felt like friends who got to share in Camille and Ivan’s big day. Thank you for letting us be part of such a truly special day. And to Bishop Farmstead, you’ve once again proven why you’re one of our favorite venues offering the backdrop to capture photos like these. Here’s to many more celebrations like this Bishop Farmstead wedding!

After hiking the Ho Chi Min Trail in Torrey Pines last month with Clayton and Abril, I was counting down the days until their San Diego Natural History Museum rooftop wedding. Not only do I love shooting on the West Coast but I knew this fun and adventurous couple had something very special in the works.
Clayton and Abril are one of those couples who remind you what love is supposed to look like. The couple that has their differences and unique personalities yet geek out together as they marathon through Star Wars, Marvel MCU, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or even GOT any chance they get. They also share a love for architecture, both having earned their Master’s in Architecture at the Newschool of Architecture & Design in San Diego where they met for the first time. Most importantly, Clayton loves Mexican food and Abril not only loves to cook it but was actually born and raised in Mexico.
On the day of the wedding, the weather was absolutely perfect. There wasn’t a single cloud in the sky as the sun made its way from one side to the other. Just the way we like it! Abril started her day getting her hair and makeup done in downtown San Diego, Clayton was over on Coronado Island. Their first look was in Balboa Park just before heading over to the rooftop of The Nat to tie the knot and celebrate with family and friends.

Thankfully, Clayton and Abril flew me out last month for their engagement shoot which gave us the chance to hang out and get to know each other a little bit before their wedding day. This allowed us to capture their day in a very photojournalistic style which you’ll be able to see in the photos below. I was able to build that trust with them ahead of time so that they were able to truly be themselves in front of our cameras. Lastly, we knew that they would want us to push things creatively and not shy away from taking risks, and we didn’t 🙂
Congrats again to our new friends, Clayton and Abril, we’re looking forward to seeing you again and hopefully enjoying some home-cooked tacos! Thank you for treating us like family and making this trip go as smoothly as it did, enjoy!
